„It’s clear that to-day biological interests of the human being (only the stronger survives) and his moral claims (everyone has the right to live) have come into irresolvable conflict with each other - one of these two sides will certainly suffer a defeat. But while death of the biological creature could lead to extintion of the moral (human) personality, the end of the human moral - as we understand this conceptual category today - would not destroy the biological creature. But to speak plainly, who would have a mind to serve a mass at a place where he celebrated a mass once before” (Boskovitz Péter)
The stage of scientific development is getting that high that soon man would be able to produce artificially intelligent, fast, wise, vital entities who will leave him far behind and overpass him in anything. How shall the human beings cope with his own creatures, will they be able to enter into competition with them, how will our natural instincts, spirit and emotions confront each other? Is it a justified, timely step or is it an act „tempting God”. Predestination, natural process and evolution according to the laws or artificial intervention into the order of life?

Silentium is intimate and communal at once. Mute meditation, parable, protest and mind-experiment . Following in footsteps of Wenders, Hamvas and Baricco but not them alone.

„As to its origin the satyre is an imaginary creature of nature, a combination of god and the goat, an offspring of heart’s yearning after ancient, natural state of existence (…) it’s nor a product of the Christian neither of the harmonical, cultured Greek world – it’s deep-rooted in barbarous times. Savagery is denoted as vitality, liveliness, absolute enjoyment of life, lack of guilty conscience and morality and is reflected in powerful sex characterestics and emphatic sensuality. Satyre’s figure and character is appropriate to illustrate the peculiarity of body free from soul’s bondage in cultural context.” (Kimlei Katalin, Ellenfény)
Tárnok Marica was awarded Special Prize for her interpretation on the 15th Alternative Theatre’s Review in Debrecen.

Animal musical with living participants in contemporary context. Jom & Terry variations is a stage adaptation of a Tom and Jerry epizode recently found in depot – never shown before and prohibited from screens to the present. On the one hand. On the other Jom and Terry, cousins of Tom and Jerry come to Budapest to play the scenario written by contemporary Hungarian dramatists who were inspired by their figures on a two-dimension stage with projected animation and contemporary music accompaniment. What is more, interfering with public’s state of mind. Each night brings a different variation of Jom and Terry.

BUDBUDĀS AT SOLSTICE
Nearly each member of the Budbudās (in Sanscrite „bubbles”) ensemle brings up new compositions on their concerts. They compose and perform but play and improvise at the same time.
The group having developed into big orchestra over years, sprung up in the midst of 90s within Tilos Radio (Radio Forbidden) on the initiative of cello-player Márkos Albert, a scholar of academican music and DJ-dean Titusz.
The orchestra is mostly represented by musicians and composers but a dj, a vj, a visual designer, a theatre director, an actor, a camera-man and a movie maker will also turn up amongst its members.
As to their definition of the genre it is neither experimental, nor contemporary, nor free jazz, nor jazz, nor hiphop, but very timely. For this reason the Budbudās is regarded as a curiosity on the Hungarian musical scene.

A hard-hitting visual team, a twisted noisemaker-musician, and a dancer with a weight problem ponder the question of: How to be one’s own shadow?
"The quasi-solo piece entitled You Are So Strange Today is a worthy sequel to Szabó's recent work that has been persistently self-ironic and keen on holding up a distorting mirror to the world." (szinhaz.hu)
An improvising duet composed for a dancer and a noisist, You Are Being So Strange Today has been invited for performances at such distinguished venues as the Nu Dance Festival in Bratislava, the Vasarely Museum in Budapest, and the Museum of Fine Arts, also of Budapest.

You can all stay home, for all I care. I don't want to be nice. I've got nothing in my hands, not even kind words, to lure you to this place.
All I've got is this great yearning in my heart to get rid of all this junk, all the building blocks of my deliberately sheltered existence.
We hoard our junk-heap within us, carrying it about with mounting weariness, fumbling miserably among the wreckage of our lives.
„Hungarian contemporary dance recently gave birth to a new genre we might call singles ballet. Although the athletic figure enacted by choreographer-performer Réka Szabó could be the envy of the slightly overweight Bridget Jones, the two have so much in common in terms of their fate and innermost qualities that they would surely understand each other on the subject of clearing one’s spiritual attic, without the help of an interpreter. This is because Szabó is an accomplished interpreter of sorts herself, doing a superb job translating verbal messages into motion, and vice versa.” (Csaba Kutszegi, Magyar Hírlap)
The piece garnered an award at the 2007 Budapest Fringe Festival, and has been invited for performances at such noted events as the Bratislava in Movement and the Ars Poetica Festival, both held in Slovakia.

„It is impossible to enact Hamlet for it would take nearly six hours. Only one of piece-inspired potential Hamlets can be put on stage. This very Hamlet certainly will be much more poor than the one of Shakespeare but it might be richer in experiments of today’s world. Many generations recognized to have similar features to Hamlet. That’s why we might call Hamlet a work of genius : one can look at oneself like in a mirror” (Jan Kott Polish literary historan, critic, essay-writer)

Terra Incognita (Part 2)- The Netherlands
Theatrical serial Terra Incognita invites public for a virtual journey. Each part is devoted to a country. This time we present the Netherlands – how we see it.
Creators: Bánki Gergő, Koblicska Lőte, Láng Annamária, Róbert Júlia, Sárosdi Lilla
A peculiar record is associated with Charles Darwin Irish pastor: he was the first – and he still might be the one and only person – who managed to travel all over the world (name identity with world famous scientist who set up the theory of evolution is simply a freak of fortune). This is how Darwin recalls the year of 1898: ”In those days everyone talked of the record albeit I didn’t mean to achieve a record. All I wanted is to apprehend the Earth, this wonderful product of God, in its infinite perfection, as God created it. Did I succeed? Sad to say but not at all. It took me 36 years and after I had visited all the places and there was no pIace left to go, well, then I felt I hadn’t been anywhere at all actually. I wanted to know everything and I got to know nothing. I wanted to embrace the whole universe and I didn’t manage to catch a piece of it.
God has shown me that we are too small and our mind is uncapable of receiving his complete product entirely. It’s only pieces we can get and we must be happy with these pieces, we must discover them. And then we can say that we really got to know somehing. One gets less, the other gets more. The rest remains an eternal secret for us. A wonderful secret of God, Terra Incognita…”
By the way Darwin died in 1910, he was kicked by a donkey in the market of Belfast.

„Something must have happened to them in Toscana, at least to Marc definitely…When you’ve got almost everything you need, and you think you’re in the top, it’s terribly frightful at the same time – for you have plenty of time to think: where do I come from? Where I am now? Which way I am going? And after all: what’s the meaning of my life? Is it worth carrying on? What if I put and end to all this?” (Bruno)
Sergi Belbel’s new piece goes into the details of compound emotive aspects of relations again. For this once the Catalan author doesn’t confine himself to unmask suppressed spiritual levels but investigates reality in a surrealistic farce. What is a result of the deranged mind and what is real? How can Marc sit over his beer in a bar after having been shot in the head? Who keeps sending messages to Joanna? What does Bruno advise from beyond the grave? Neptune Brigade tells about these and about our day-to-day anxieties, whilst a mysterious telephone clanks now and again.

„Life is made up of extasy-islands scattered about in the sea of boredom, and we see very little of shore over thirty”
Luke Rhinehart, the acknowledged psychiatrist one day realizes that he’s fallen into captivity of routinish everydays and has been carried away by mechanical roles. He is sick and tired of it and decides to break away from all and to leave his fortune to chance. To be more exact, to dice. He excercises various options as to what roles and how he will play. There is no turning back from the day of first „Big throw’: he is increasingly possessed by the dice and his life turns to an unpredicable and wayward chaos.
